Intruder Alarm Systems

AS/NZS 2201.1:2007 INTRUDER ALARM SYSTEMS – CLIENT’S PREMISES-DESIGN, INSTALLATION, COMMISSIONING AND MAINTENANCE
This Standard specifies the minimum requirements for the design, installation, commissioning, installation and maintenance of intruder alarm systems. It classifies equipment and systems interconnected by wire and wire-free links. Such systems consist of detection devices, control equipment, warning and signaling devices, and the necessary power supply equipment.

AS 2201.2-2004 INTRUDER ALARM SYSTEMS - MONITORING CENTRES
This Standard specifies requirements and a grading convention for monitoring centres used for the monitoring of intruder alarm systems. It also sets out requirements and a grading convention for operations, equipment and staff in monitoring centres used for the monitoring of intruder alarm systems.

AS 2201.3-1991 INTRUDER ALARM SYSTEMS - DETECTION DEVICES FOR INTERNAL USE
This Standard specifies requirements for the performance of detection devices intended for use in intruder alarm systems.

AS 2201.4 - 1990 INTRUDER ALARM SYSTEMS – WIRE – FREE SYSTEMS INSTALLED IN CLIENT’S PREMISES
This Standard sets out the classification of systems and the system and equipment requirements of intruder alarm systems installed in client’s premises where the principal interconnections are by wire-free links. Such systems consist of detection devices, control equipment, warning and signaling devices, and the necessary power supply equipment.

AS/NZS 2201.5:2008 INTRUDER ALARM SYSTEMS - ALARM TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS
This Standard specifies the requirements for the performance, reliability and security characteristics for alarm transmission systems used as part of an intruder alarm system. It includes requirements for the transmission of signals between an intruder alarm system in a clients premises and a monitoring centre.

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)

AS 4806.1-2006 CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) - MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION
This Standard provides recommendations for the operation and management of closed circuit television (CCTV) within a controlled environment, where data that may be offered as evidence is received, stored, reviewed or analyzed.

AS 4806.2-2006 CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) - APPLICATION GUIDELINES
This Standard provides recommendations for the selection, planning and installation of closed circuit television systems comprising camera(s), monitor(s), video recorder(s), switching, control and ancillary equipment for use in security and surveillance applications.

AS 4806.3-2006 CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) - PAL SIGNAL TIMINGS AND LEVELS
This Standard provides requirements for PAL signals used in closed circuit television (CCTV) equipment and systems with an analogue input or an analogue output or both.

AS 4806.4-2008 CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) - REMOTE VIDEO
This Standard sets out requirements and recommendations for the design, installation, commissioning, operation and remote monitoring of the following:
(a) Remotely monitored detector-activated alarm verification CCTV systems.
(b) Remotely monitored interactive video management CCTV systems.
(c) Remotely monitored CCTV surveillance systems.

Guard and Patrol Security Services

AS 4421: 2011 GUARD AND PATROL SECURITY SERVICES
This Standard sets out requirements and recommendations for management and operation of guard and patrol security services.

For All DET (particularly within the NSW School area) Applicable Standards to be adhered to are: AS/NZS 3000:2007 - Electrical installations (known as the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules) Amendments 2009 and 2012 This Standard sets out requirements for the design, construction and verification of electrical installations, including the selection and installation of electrical equipment forming part of such electrical installations. These requirements are intended to protect persons, livestock, and property from electric shock, fire and physical injury hazards that may arise from an electrical installation that is used with reasonable care and with due regard to the intended purpose of the electrical installation. In addition, guidance is provided so that the electrical installation will function correctly for the purpose intended.

AS 4806.2-2006 Closed circuit television (CCTV) - Application guidelines This Standard provides recommendations for the selection, planning and installation of closed circuit television systems comprising camera(s), monitor(s), video recorder(s), switching, control and ancillary equipment for use in security and surveillance applications.

AS/CA S009:2013 - Installation requirements for customer cabling (Wiring Rules) Specifies the requirements for the installation and maintenance of fixed or concealed cabling or equipment that is connected, or is intended to be connected, to a telecommunications network, including any cord or cordage, or that part of any cord or cordage, that is connected as fixed or concealed cabling.

AS/NZS ISO/IEC 24702:2007 - Telecommunications installations - Generic cabling - Industrial premises. Amendment 2012

Adopts ISO/IEC 24702:2006 to specify generic cabling that supports a wide range of communications services including automation, process control and monitoring applications for use within industrial premises or industrial areas within other types of premises, comprising single or multiple buildings on campus. It covers balanced cabling and optical fibre cabling and is based upon and references the requirements of ISO/IEC 11801.
